This project involved creating social media artwork for Kouat Noi, a South Sudanese-Australian professional basketball player, to highlight key milestones in his career progression during the 2019/20 NBL season and NBA Draft process. I was engaged by Noi as a rising Australian basketball talent following a standout season where he finished second in the NBL Rookie of the Year voting behind LaMelo Ball, which led to selection opportunities with the Australian Boomers for Olympic qualification and interest from NBA teams including the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets.

The brief was to create a series of social media assets, including jersey swaps, that could capture these career milestones and build engagement around his journey, with the content primarily created for a Sudanese-Australian basketball social media page to showcase his growth and visibility on an international stage.

I was commissioned directly by the player and worked as the sole designer, responsible for the concept, direction, and execution of all visual assets.

The approach focused on combining jersey swaps with location-driven backgrounds to reflect the cities, teams, and national representation tied to each milestone, creating a clear narrative of progression while maintaining a consistent and recognisable visual style across all assets.

The project delivered a series of social media tiles and story graphics designed for use across platforms, forming a cohesive visual set aligned to key moments in the player’s career.

The content supported engagement and awareness around Kouat Noi’s career trajectory, helping communicate his rise and international opportunities to a broader audience.

This project reinforced the importance of storytelling in athlete-driven content, demonstrating how consistent visual execution can effectively highlight progression and strengthen a player’s personal brand.
